Run it yourself space for filmmakers, media artists - Ehwa Arts Collaboratory offers residencies ranging from a week to six months in Kathmandu.
Since 2016 Docskool has offered residency space for use by fimmakers, artists and others at the Ehwa Arts Collaboratory. The residency is located in Dhulikhel, 45 kms from Kathmandu on the Sindhuli Highway. It hosts all of Docskool's Talent Development activities and is available when not occupied. A nominal charge is levied to cover operations which can be withdrawn by developing a collaboration with Docskool or by applying for external artist grants.
The Residency can host upto 14 people at a time. It is nominally serviced and invites external groups to use the spce to organise creative getaways among other activities.
The space is located on a hilltop within a village and is accessed only by a dirt road. The residency offers the following facilities as of current:
- Editing Suites (PC and Mac)
- Sound Booth (equipped only with Rode NTG2 and Zoom R8)
- SD and HD cameras (Panasonic DVX and Canon 7D with tripods)
- Mini Theater
- Books, DVD's and common working lobby areas
- Custom designed workshops for group interactions
