Clinik.Kathmandu announces registrations open for the first Documentary Incubation Workshop for filmmakers in nascent stages of conceptualizing a project and for documentary enthusiasts. The workshop will be held between 3 - 7 October, 2018 in Kathmandu. It is a joint workshop being held in partnership between Clinik of Docskool and Documentor, an initiative of Documentary Resource Initiative (DRI), Kolkata. This workshop is also part of the 'Reality Storytelling' series workshop which have been organised as part of the Documentor program in Manipur, Jaipur, Tezpur and is now in Kathmandu for its first international engagement. The 5 days workshop aims to focus on building a level of clarity towards the common perspective of documentary films and in doing so, support filmmakers in developing concepts for potential short/feature length documentary projects. The program marks the first collaboration between Docskool and DRI, who are the organizers of the much renowned DocedgeKolkata platform held to promote Asian documentary. It also opens road for Docskool towards broader engagement with documentaries with further programs to be announced. The Clinik Documentary Incubation Workshop will be held as a daytime activity. It will include sessions devoted to extensive discourses on diverse formats and challenges of contemporary documentary cinema. A specific focus will be laid on promoting cinema as the medium of reality storytelling and how it connects with the human life experience. Curated screenings will be held every evening open for the public at the venue. These screenings will be open to all.
