Rural Participation Program

Docskool’s Rural Participatory Program focuses on building exchange based learning environments between media practitioners based in urban and semi urban areas of Nepal.

Since 2010 the RPP program has continually worked with community Radio’s in Eastern Nepal encouraging dialogues on their sustainability. The programs approach is guided further with the belief that media’s sustainability is strengthened with a firm understanding of local contemporary culture and the relevance of its engagement with traditional media forms.

Taking a different seat from that of cinema campaigners, Docskool’s RPP provides Docskool members with a unique opportunity to understand larger relevance of audience-oriented forms such as cinema from an organic community perspective. Several residencies and exchange opportunities are provided each year by the RPP program for media artists from diverse backgrounds to work with community based media.
